Uptown

Tee - Asos
Jeans - Etto Boutique
Sneakers - Adidas Stan Smith

This picture was taken in my recent visit to Spain.

I styled this yellow flannel with a floral navy tee and some black tapered jeans. The colour of this flannel gives of quite a summery vibe which is what I was going for. Neutral colours go well with this flannel as it is very bright. Too much colour can make you look like a walking rainbow.

Other ways to dress this flannel could be by wearing it over a hoodie. I previously styled this outfit with a black hoodie and black jeans which also looked great.

Spain has a vibrant feel in terms of their fashion sense. Everything is very colourful and full of floral prints which I admire.

I find it fascinating that a persons fashion sense can change by visiting different countries and absorbing different cultures. I like to take inspiration from different countries I visit. I found that the fashion sense in Italy is quite subtle, yet still looks elegant.

Let me know what you think about this outfit in the comments below.

Until next time!

More Margiela than a Maison

Maison Margiela Sweater
I am drawn to clothing with different textures as it brings out the outfit and stands out from a standard boring grey jumper. It helps break up the outfit and gives a better aesthetic. This jumper is extremely well made. Looking from another persons perspective, it looks different yet wearable.

I was looking for this jumper in every city I visited whilst on my year abroad. Some staff members looked at me with a confused face, I didn't know if it was my accent or the simple fact that they hadn't heard of the sweater.

A$AP Rocky had been seen wearing this exact garment which may have been the reason why it was selling out faster than usual. He completed the look by wearing the matching shorts which were included in the SS15 collection.

After this jumper was released by Maison Margiela, many other designers took inspiration and started to make their own version. However none were as good as the original.

Life is Gucci

Gucci

Recently Gucci reinvented their brand image. Alessandro Michele joined Gucci 2 years ago and transformed their designs. Gucci in my opinion was very tacky and dated, however their recent designs has elevated their brand to allow them to be recognised as one of the top fashion brands.

The floral and animal embroidery which they have implemented on their garments are eye catching and easily recognisable. This Gucci tee is amongst my favourites from their new collection. The Gucci Ace sneakers are another favourites of mine. They can be worn with almost anything and bring something unique to an outfit.

Many celebrities have been wearing Gucci recently. Celebrities such as A$AP Rocky & Travis Scott have been seen wearing Gucci on numerous occasion. Rocky combines Gucci with other brands such as Gosha and Raf Simons which gives a distinctive look.

One Sec let me chat about clothes

Overcoat - Allsaints
Jumper - Cos
Jeans - Represent
Sneakers - Balenciaga

The new season pieces are now coming into store. Gucci is definitely a brand to look out for. Also, another brand to look out for this season is Balenciaga. They have brought out some pieces which I think will be very popular this season.

Balenciaga runners are one of my favourite shoes out right now. They go with everything. You can dress them up and dress them down which is the look I usually go for. I had no intention of buying these, I  was just walking through Harvey Nichols and saw these on the shelf, the person who worked there told me they had just arrived that day and this was the last pair, which was my size. I tried them on and I couldn't not buy them.

Iv heard many people go on about how these runners are very comfortable. This is a lie. They aren't that comfortable, but they are more comfortable than other luxurious shoes I have tried on.

Overcoats are great to dress up and dress down with. Here I am wearing a black overcoat from Allsaints and wearing it with a salmon/terracotta colour jumper from Cos. I like dressing down pieces to make them look effortless. The overcoat is called the "Rainer coat" and the jumper is from last season.

Thats not me

Coat - Asos
Jumper - Selected Homme
Jeans - Asos
Sneakers - Jordan Bred 1's

This picture was taken for a model agency I was applying for. The main reason I wanted this job was so I could network with people in the fashion industry. I got the job, however I quickly learned modelling was not for me as I wasn't keen on the types of photographs that I would have to take and knew it wasn't the right career path for me.
Also, for this job, I would need to travel back and forth to Manchester. This would be hard as at this moment I was in the middle of my year abroad. During my year abroad, I travelled to almost 30 different cities. I was in a different city almost every week! I was very grateful for this opportunity as it gave me a chance to see different cultures and iconic places which I have always been interested in. Whilst I was in these cities I got to see how people from different countries dress and the trends and styles they have which gave me a chance to broaden my own personal style.

This picture was taken in Neu Isenburg, a town on the outskirts of Frankfurt, Germany.

Last Winter

Hoodie - Bape Shark 1st Camo Hoodie
Bomber Jacket - Air Tokyo
Jeans - Each to Their Own
Shoes - Balenciaga Arena

This photo was taken in the famous Duomo. This iconic place for shopping is arguably one of the biggest fashion cities in the world, Milan. This picture was actually not meant to feature me "supposedly", but evidently I make this picture go from 0-100 real quick.

We went on January 7th 2016. Surprisingly in Milan, the sales were still on and changed depending on how much items you bought. For example, if an item has 30% off, they may offer you to buy 2 items and get 40% off both.

From this shopping trip, I bought a lot of things I didn't need, but thats nothing new. I got a pair of Nike x Gyakusou runners in the Gucci colour-way. Apparently this colour was impossible to get a hold of here in England. However in Milan there were loads of pairs on sale. I bought a Hood By Air hoodie which was also half price. I will provide pictures of all the items I bought in a future post.

Overall, Milan is by far one of my favourite cities because of the exclusivity of items which can be found there. But aside from the fashion, food in Milan is something you need to try. Ever wondered how nice a pizza can be? Visit Milan..... or any other Italian city.

Too deep for the intro?

Cap - Maniere de Voir
Red Tee - Comme des Garcon Play
Green Tee - Comme des Garcon Play
Grey Jumper - Paul Smith
Glasses - Asos

Flat lay of different textures with some of my favourite pieces at the moment.

Some of my favourite brands consist of; Off White, Raf Simons, Maison Margiela, Dries Van Noten, Alexander Wang, Balenciaga, Comme des Garçon, Allsaints, David Naman, Zara, Cos, Gucci, Saint Laurent, Dior, Asos. I also like underground streetwear brands such as Each To Their Own, Audere, Chmps Parrise, Phenomenon and Unused. These brands inspire me to be unique and stand out from the crowd.

I like dressing down high end pieces to make the outfit look effortless and casual.

One of my biggest inspirations is A$AP Rocky. I like how he makes high end pieces look effortless but still stand out from the crowd. I also like how he experiments different pieces and mixes streetwear with high-end fashion brands.

Other inspirations include; Raf Simons, Maison Margiela, Virgil Abloah, Chris Brown, Big Sean, Reece Wabara and many more. I also get inspiration from random people walking down the street. Instagram plays a big role in inspiring me to dress certain pieces in certain ways.
